Mosaic Music Therapy

After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Cohen went on to earn a PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Michigan. He then completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship in rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology at University of Michigan Hospital.   After the postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Cohen practiced neuropsychology at the JFK Center for Brain Injuries and then Children's Specialized Hospital's Cognitive Rehabilitation program.  

 

At Mosaic, Dr. Cohen provides neurocognitive assessments that guide music-based cognitive rehabilitation in targeting specific cognitive domains (e.g. attention, executive functions, memory) and monitor patients for progress.  He also co-leads music-based cognitive rehabilitation groups and communicates with the therapists on a regular basis.  When appropriate, Dr. Cohen consults with patient's schools and/or other rehabilitation therapists (e.g. PT, OT, SLP).  Dr. Cohen also has a private practice in the Red Bank and Tinton Falls area specializing in providing services to people with acquired brain injuries and neurodevelopmental disorders.
