Jonathan Scheick, MA, MMH, MCBIS, MT-BC

Jon is the founder & director of Mosaic Music Therapy & Neuro-Rehabilitation Services.  He is a board-certified music psychotherapist, specializing in the music-centered music therapy approach.  Jon is also a certified brain injury rehabilitation specialist, recognized by the national Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS).

Jon is currently completing his doctoral degree in music education with specialization in music therapy at New York University.  He received his master's degree in music therapy from New York University and had the privilege of completing his clinical internship at the world-renowned Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy in New York City.  Jon completed clinical fieldwork training in music therapy within the oncology & hematology departments of  the Tomorrows Children's Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center. 

Jon completed a second master's degree in medical humanities at Drew University in Madison, NJ, and founded Mosaic Music Therapy & Neuro-Rehabilitation Services in 2011.  With over 20 years and 15,000+ hours of clinical therapy experience within the fields of psychology,  neuro-rehabilitation & music therapy, Jon has provided healthcare services for children, adolescents and adults within individual and group settings.  Jon received his bachelor's degree in liberal arts & sciences from Villanova University. 

Jon is also an adjunct professor in the graduate school's Department of Professional Counseling at Monmouth University and in the Department of Psychology at Brookdale Community College.

Jon has created music for over 30 years and utilizes the guitar as a primary instrument in therapy, in addition to piano, voice and a variety of melodic & percussive instruments.  He is actively interested in multidisciplinary research with therapy modalities such as neuropsychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy and other creative arts therapies.    

Jon is a member of the American Music Therapy Association & the New Jersey Association for Music Therapy, and has maintained certification in CPR & basic life saving / first aid for 20+ years.
